The writing runs over the top like audio, like lyrics: “I know what you are saying, and I know what you are saying it for — but I'm not listening. I'm not listening any more.” The scene doesn't say who's speaking. The one pinned, refusing the order. The one pinning, deaf to the plea. Either way it keeps being true.
