- Jungle out there
(( oil & ink on paper, 5 panels @ 50x77” = total 250x77" ))About my neighbors: They were a dream. They had a tasting room and it was unhinged and great. They moved out, I did this while they were there. 💋💃🕺🏽
Five panels, one dance floor. The couple keeps dancing — cheek to cheek, all smiles — while the jungle shows up: zebra, horns, wings, a leopard crossing two panels like it owns them. Nobody stops dancing.
The dance is what we think it should be. The jungle is what it is. Under every staged moment run the older ones — ancestors, animals, appetite. The dress is new; the dance is thousands of years old.
The couple stays black and white; the jungle gets the color. Oil moves slower than ink.
